This mod adds more names for the game to pick from when generating Japanese, Indian, Moroccan and Islander townies.

+ more names for non-cultural sims as well.

NEW VERSION

– Updated package for Ranch patch

– Created new packages for simmers who play in Czech, French, German, Italian, Korean, Spanish. If you play in one of these languages you can download the language specific pack. You will get extra cultural names and around 500 extra names (feamle, male, last names together) in the game’s language.

– Some language specific mentions:

• For Korean, I didn’t follow the game’s pattern of using transliterated English names, I used regular names.
• For French I added a couple of Maghreb names as well.
• Czech names have extra names for feminine masculine declension of family names

– Simmers playing in other languages than English can still download the English pack and get the extra cultural names.

– Added a few Korean and Chinese names to the Japanese name lists.

Features of new name lists (random names):

– The new random names are only in the English language lists. If the game is in another language the names will not show up in your game or in the name randomizer.

– I added names from the following cultural background: Armenian, Bosniak, Bulgarian, Croat, Greek, Magyar, Romanian, Slovene, Turkish.

– Names are mostly from national reports on name frequency.

– No base game names were removed. Base game has 1080 female first names, 3148 last names and 1075 male first names in English. I add 310, 103 and 272 names respectively.

– As there is no cultural tag for these names it’s very unlikely that a random townie will get a Greek first and last name for example. It will most likely be a mixture from a base-game name and maaaaaybe a new random name. This is ok and doesn’t stray from the base game that also has a varied pool of names.

By default, if your sims visit Sulani, San Myshuno and Mt. Komorebi often, the game will generate sims to populate festivals, streets and to take part in activities. These townies do not get their names from the same list you have in CAS (randomized) but have separate lists of culturally appropriate names. These lists are short (some only 10 names long) and you may have noticed some repetition or have grown tired of seeing the same names over and over again.

This mod expands the following lists with names taken from census data. It does not replace the default names, it just ads to the lists.

I tried to include a decent variety of names on both lists and included some unisex names (that’s why you may encounter a name in both the female and male names lists) .
