I was honestly shocked that EA did not include tail options without the side fins. So after playing the game for a little while I decided to edit out the side fins on “EP07_yf_FinTwo”

Upload contains mesh and 12 recolors (some new, some taken from the original fins)
You can find the mermaid tail in CAS –> Create Occult Sim –> Mermaid –> Swimwear –> Fins
There is a file for males and females; both are available for teen to elders.
The thumbnail is EAxis generated and looks like this (but with the little wrench/cc icon):
