Stevie Nicks, known as the Queen of Rock, was born Stephanie Nicks in 1948 in Phoenix Arizona. She started singing as a small child, taught by her grandfather. Her long career began in earnest in the nineteen seventies when she joined the band Fleetwood Mac. She has sung over forty top hits and sold 140 million records. She was named one of 55 greatest songwriters and one of 100 greatest singers. She has eight Grammy Awards and two American Music Awards.
Ms. Nicks created her own charity, Stevie Nicks’ Band of Soldiers, to help wounded soldiers in 2004.
